"A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know." - Diane Arbus

Before

I never intended to pursue a career in photography till I was standing under the spotlight accepting my awards at Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles.

About

Raised in Southern California, Winnie Jiahua Orabelle Huang is an award-winning photographer with a concentration in art direction and film production. Her past employers include Nowness,  Visual China GroupGetty Images,  Sports Illustrated & University of Oregon. As a sports photographer, she is passionate about the stories, people, brands, and projects that influence an intersection of art and conversation. With an intent to be as vulnerable philosophical or poetic as need be, her works categorized as both whimsical and journalistic. Currently, she resides between Brooklyn, New York working primarily in video, photography and design.

Statement

Her creative approach - no matter the medium - is to connect with people. She wants to explore her limits, to make illusion, something manipulative. For her, creativity isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images.
